Recent questions about hydrology and trucks
If we are using the stormwater collected from the green roof for the irrigation of the greenery, do we have to treat the water further?
- No, you don't need to treat that any further if you are using it to irrigate the property (not the Part 303 wetland).
When it comes to placing the retention pond, can this be placed near a wetland/ incorporated into an existing wetland to just enhance its ability to hold the water?
- See the post about the site visit. Basically no, you cannot.
How detailed do you want the site plan to be for the final memo? Originally you said it could be a very basic design, but our feedback makes it seem like our entire team should have their design finished.
- You definitely don't need to have a final site plan. We fully expect that you will have to modify it throughout the semester. The hope is that you have an initial idea of where water will flow in the system. As Dr. Li told one of the students, "the site plan needs to be concrete, detailed and "complete" (in terms of the objects to be included and layout, and connections), but the plan will certainly evolve throughout the semester".
Do
we have a number of trucks that consumers have in their
fleet as well as their types so we can use those numbers
for air pollution and the car washing water demand?
- I asked my contact at Consumers about the number of trucks and they said they were still in the programming stage. I counted about 45 trucks on the aerial photo of the Willow Street site. I just went back over the newspaper articles which mention the plan to expand operations. So perhaps 75 trucks. I would say, assume that 60% of those are single-unit (SU-9) design trucks and 40% are semi (WB-19) type. I've copied Dr. Ingle on the email since he and I discussed this this afternoon.
